Holiday Accommodation Marazion

Sleeps 8, two bathrooms, panoramic views of the bay, private parking, spacious rooms and all mod cons – what more do you need.

sitting room photoBuilt in the 1970’s as a ‘villa-style’ home and with the main living areas on the top floor, South Wind has wonderful panoramic views of St. Michael’s Mount and the whole of Mount’s Bay. The large reception room runs across the whole of the front of the house and is bright and open; it is comfortably furnished and has a flat screen TV, DVD player, and music system that will play CD’s and i-Pod, plus log burning stove for winter days. The dining area sits behind this space off the kitchen and has a window in the dividing wall, enabling the visitors to enjoy the view at the front and also to the rear garden whilst enjoying meals together. There is a balcony off this upper living area and also a more sheltered balcony accessible from both double bedrooms below, both are ideal for sitting out for coffee or an evening drink. The bottom balcony is large enough for a small table at which one can enjoy meals or afternoon tea.

The kitchen has windows overlooking the garden at the rear and the back lane making it light; it is equipped with full-size electric cooker and microwave and leads off to a large utility room containing dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer plus a full sized fridge freezer.

On the floor beneath two double bedrooms are situated at the front of the house giving the occupants the same magical views of the Mount and the bay. Imagine waking up to a full picture window of the sea – glorious at all times of the year. The third bedroom, with twin 3ft beds, has an aspect out to the rear courtyard. These three rooms plus two bathrooms (one with full bath and the other with large walk-in shower) make up the middle floor of the house. The fourth bedroom (twin 3ft beds) is on the lowest level of the house and has an en-suite bathroom (with shower) plus a TV making this fairly self-contained – perhaps a useful room to occupy children with.

The main entrance to the house is up a full flight of external stairs to the entry porch which may not be suitable for some people. There is a garden to the rear of the house, separated from the house by a lane, and accessible up a relatively steep flight of steps; due to the nature of the garden visitors are advised that it is not suitable for unsupervised children as there is an unfenced steep face. There is a patio to sit out on in the garden and the views of the bay from here are even better than from the house – if that could be possible! The garden is also a sheltered retreat which is often preferable to the crowds and wind on the beach.

Access to South Wind is up a narrow lane, there is parking for two cars on the forecourt plus guests are able to use the garage, where one car could be parked.
